Pippa Power

Being asked to be a bridesmaid often sends shivers down many a spine.  Ultimately the big question is "What will I HAVE to wear"?   At the recent royal wedding, Pippa, Kate Middleton's sister rasied the bar for bridesmaids by wearing one of the most talked about bridesmaids dresses in recent times.  The classic Sarah Burton, off white, capped sleeved, body hugging sheath Pippa wore immediately sent shock waves through the fashion world.  Fashions Stylists were ranting just as much about Pippa's gown as they were about her sister's Kate wedding dress.  The dress could not have been more fashionably perfect and knock off's of the dress are already hitting store racks.

Brides take note, not everyone can wear a body hugging gown like Pippa but every bridesmaid can look and feel good on your wedding day.  The first rule of thumb is choosing a colour that will flatter all your special ladies.  There are four international colours that literally look fabulous on everyone-ivory, salmon, aqua and periwinkle are perfect colours to choose if you have an array of skintones and hair colours in your group.

Another great way to achieve happiness amongst your bridal party is to choose the fabric and colour and let your bridemaids choose there own style.  Brides in the Windsor area should definitely visit Always A Bridesmaid located in Tecumseh. http://alwaysabridesmaid.ca/  Here you will find both the After Six and Alfred Angelo bridesmaids lines that make ordering the same fabic dresses in individual styles an easy task.

Keep styles simple and classic.  The beauty of Pippa's dress was really the elegant simplicity of it.  Keeping your bridesmaids happy by choosing dresses they feel good in will ultimately make the road to your wedding day a much simplier path to travel.

Create A Signature Drink for Your Wedding

If you want to make your wedding an extremely personal affair there are many new trends and ways to do so. One of my favorites is to create your own personal wedding day Signature Cocktail.

Many brides are doing a DIY project for their wedding (Do It Yourself) not necessarily to save money but simply to create a personal touch to their wedding. Creating a Signature Drink is a simple project that won't take alot of time out of your busy schedule to put together but it will create the "wow" factor and a lasting memory of your special day.

Work with your banquet hall or caterer early in the planning stages and let them know that you want a signature drink concocted for your wedding. Inform these specialists of what some of your favorite travel spots, foods, passions, hobbies and past times are as a couple. Let these specialists come up with a fabulous cocktail creation and imaginitive name for your drink.

Canadian Club are experts at mixing cocktail specialties and couples in the Windsor area are so lucky to have this local resource. When you place your wedding day liquor order with Canadian Club make sure to discuss some ideas with them about a specialty drink. With the abundance of wonderful wineries in our area these specialists can also help you with some wedding day wine mixer ideas.

Make your wedding day drink your signature drink as a couple for many years to come. When you entertain guests in your home for dinner parties or special occasions carry on the tradition of serving your wedding day drink to family and friends for many years to come.

Make sure to include take home drink cards at each table outlining the ingredients for your signature drink. Your guests will love the idea that they can mix up this drink after your party. Your drink may become so popular over the years that it could end up on a bar menu. Cheers!!
